Andy is an information security specialist with over 20 years’ domain experience. At CORVID, he is responsible for the day to day delivery of the advanced managed security and consultancy services provided to the Ultra group and commercial clients. He leads a team of security professionals who specialise in the prevention, detection, analysis and clean-up of cyber attacks and the provision of information assurance and governance consultancy.

Andy’s career in information security began at GCHQ where, amongst various positions held, he was a lead consultant in CESG (the information assurance arm of GCHQ), providing direct guidance to numerous large government procurement programmes. In this role, he also gained extensive experience of delivering training to both government and private sector clients on a variety of information assurance subjects. He trained CLAS consultants at CESG and was part of the team at the Civil Service College training new accreditors. Andy has written and delivered bespoke training courses to meet specific client needs for both HMG clients and the private sector.

Prior to joining CORVID, Andy held senior positions in two large consultancy companies. In these roles he worked with numerous clients assisting in the delivery of secure capability in line with their business requirements. He has a wealth of experience in designing systems and solutions that can meet the most challenging security requirements. Andy has assisted many government departments in interpreting and implementing HMG security policies, analysing and managing security risks, designing secure solutions and architectures and documenting security policy. He has an excellent knowledge of information risk management methodologies and can use this to translate customers’ business requirements into security requirements. Andy is a member of the IISP and is certified under the CESG Certified Cyber Professional scheme.
