Paddy McGuinness was, until earlier this year, the UK’s Deputy National Security Adviser for Intelligence, Security and Resilience overseeing national risk assessment, crisis response and recovery and advising the Prime Minister on Cyber Security, Counter Terrorism and action by Hostile States. In this role Paddy led on the UK’s cyber programs including formulation and implementation of the UK’s 5 year National Cyber Security Strategy and work to enhance the security of Critical National Infrastructure and manage any adverse national security impacts from foreign investment.

The first part of Paddy’s career was spent oversees with service in Yemen, UAE, Egypt and Italy. He now advises private and public sector bodies on their approach to resilience and security in UK and overseas. He continues to work for Government as a National Security Envoy on Data.
